Hello. My name is Scott Aumann and I am the founder of The Legit Musician. The Legit Musician is an idea I’ve had for a long time. I am a musician and I found myself wondering how to do certain things in the music industry. There are resources out there in book form, online, and friends in the industry that I have learned from. That was part of the problem though. I would find a piece here and a piece there. Why can’t I find all of this stuff in one place? My hopes are to be that one central place for musicians to find the answers that they are searching for. I also hope to make the process easy, so you aren’t afraid to tackle these things on your own. Some of this has taken me years to figure out. I wished this existed when I started out.
A little history about me: I play guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin, lap steel, and once knew how to play trumpet in the 5th grade. I love music! I have played guitar and bass for several bands over the years. I currently play bass for Grooveyard Record’s recording artist Mojo Radio. I am the guy on the right side of the photo above. I am in the trenches with you fellow musicians, so I know what you’re going through. I also love the dreaded business side of music. This love of the dark side led to the creation of this blog.
